We’ve had some great encounters with harbour porpoises in the last couple of days, recording multiple groups including maternal pods, and observing multiple behaviours such as leaping, jumping and surfing in the swell. We’ve also had some fantastic bird sightings including our second little tern for this year, a group of migrating Arctic terns, an Arctic skua and several storm petrels. Many thousands of Manx shearwaters were seen traveling through as well as high numbers of Gannets. The forecast is improving after today and Free Spirit is eager to get back out offshore over the weekend.
