August 17th & 18th

August 19th, 2019

A fantastic diversity of wildlife over the weekend. Somewhat challenging conditions yesterday but the dolphins seemed to be having the best time surging through the waves which made for some excellent viewing! We recorded our biggest aggregation of harbour porpoises for this year consisting of over 50 individuals as well as a seals, lots of seabirds and peregrine falcons. Huge numbers of Manx shearwaters were seen offshore and large workups of gannets were often found hunting with the cetaceans.

+-220 Common Dolphins, multiple interactions, including calves, +-72 Harbour Porpoises, big pod of over 50, 3 Atlantic Grey Seals, one quite far out offshore, 1 Storm Petrel, 1000s of Manx Shearwaters, 3 Balearic Shearwaters, 100s of Gannets, feeding frenzies, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Mediterranean Gulls, Peregrine Falcons, at nest sites
