Absolutely perfect conditions to spend the whole trip offshore and we were rewarded with almost non-stop fins. We had the most amazing and close-up encounters with multiple groups of common dolphins, including a large group of around 50 individuals, as well as several harbour porpoises. A workup of hundreds of gannets pouring into the sea was spotted on the horizon and as we became closer we were joined by more dolphins all wanting to bow-ride and jump alongside us. The sight of gannets diving into the sea like missiles never gets old and we will hopefully start recording more large workups through July. We recorded a high sea surface temperature of 20.8°C and three different species of jellyfish, many right at the sea surface.
+-100 Common Dolphins, largest pod of 50 feeding with workup of gannets, plus several smaller groups, 11 Harbour Porpoises, multiple interactions, 100s of Gannets, large workup offshore, lots diving including juveniles, 100s of Manx Shearwaters, large rafts offshore and group feeding, few Guillemots, Barrel Jellyfish, Compass Jellyfish, Blue Jellyfish
