What a day to be offshore yesterday and as the wind dropped throughout the trip, the sea just became calmer and calmer. We got some stunning views of several great northern and black throated divers in a mixture of their summer and winter coats. Around 10 grey seals were spotted in the water all in the same area bottling and being nosy. And soon after leaving the coast we found a huge amount of bird activity spread out over a wide area, with one particularly huge workup of hunting gannets leading us to our first pod of common dolphins. We estimate there were around 250 animals altogether and a few harbour porpoises were also spotted on the journey back in.
