August 3rd

August 6th, 2020

Coming out of the Carrick Roads we spotted Ellis, Cornwall’s only resident common seal, hauled out with a young grey seal giving us one of the best views we’ve had of him for a long while! And nice to see he’s still doing so well with the wounds to his side. We had around seven different encounters with common dolphins which were all quite spread out offshore, as well as quite a few bluefin tuna which would just suddenly erupt out of the water. The water was a stunning turquoise and crystal clear so we had fantastic views of the dolphins from above when they came over to bow ride. An astonishing number of Manx shearwaters could be seen as far as the eye could see.

+-68 Common Dolphins, multiple different interactions, covering a large area of sea, Atlantic Bluefin Tuna, 5 different encounters, 2 Atlantic Grey Seals, one pup hauled out, 1 Common Seal, Ellis, hauled out at Black Rock, 1000s of Manx Shearwaters, covering a huge area offshore, 100s of Gannets, 1 Scoter, Mediterranean Gulls, Tern spp, Kittiwakes, Compass Jellyfish

We are already filling up very quickly for the whole of August now so please do get in touch (01326 316098 11-4pm weekdays) as soon as is convenient if you would like to book!
