September 19th & 20th

October 15th, 2020

We have recorded harbour porpoises on almost every single trip in September where we’ve headed offshore and in a variety of sea conditions, often associated with large work ups of hunting gannets. Over the weekend we had outstanding wildlife, with multiple encounters with harbour porpoises as well as lots of common dolphins and an adult minke whale! We had beautiful conditions on both days with very little wind and a calm sea despite over 2m swell on Saturday which was residual from the previous couple of days. Seabirds included Balearic and Manx shearwaters and lots of guillemots and razorbills.

1 Minke Whale, adult heading west, 63 Common Dolphins, including several calves and juveniles, +-100 Harbour Porpoises, multiple different encounters, 15 Atlantic Grey Seals, including pup and mum and new pregnant female, Atlantic Bluefin Tuna, Guillemots, Razorbills, 2 Balearic Shearwaters, Manx Shearwaters, Gannets, spread over large areas
