What a difference a day can make in the sea conditions! The easterly winds had unfortunately picked up today creating a lumpy sea but we still managed to head out a little bit into the bay and record several grey seals, some coastal birds and a lovely eider duck. We spent the rest of our trips up the creeks of the beautiful Fal estuary which was incredibly sheltered and wildlife-rich. More seals were spotted, one of which had managed to haul itself out onto a large buoy, as well as sandwich terns, shelducks and a huge herd of fallow deer!
28 Atlantic Grey Seals, most hauled out on a beach, +-60 Fallow Deer, including several stags, 2 Whimbrels, 9 Sandwich Terns, 1 Eider Duck, 12 Shelducks, 6 Herons, 8 Egrets, Oystercatchers, 4 Buzzards, Ravens, including one on the nest
