The strong easterly winds over the past few days have restricted us to the sheltered waters of the Fal estuary but the sun has been out and we’ve still been able to record a fantastic diversity of species every day including seals and a selection of seabirds, birds of prey and wading birds on each trip. The highlight was a flock of over a dozen bar-tailed godwits yesterday with males in their beautiful summer plumage, a species we’ve not spotted up there before. We also had a sighting reported to us of a small pod of dolphins right up by Smugglers Cottage early one morning.
