AK Wildlife Cruises Sightings

Despite the northerly breeze, the sun bathed the landscape in its warm glow, signaling the arrival of spring. As we ventured offshore, the abundance of seabirds delighted our senses. The sky was adorned with a mesmerizing display of gulls, including the elegant Mediterranean Gulls and graceful kittiwakes, feasting on the plentiful small fry just beneath the surface of the sea. Our attention was drawn to the lively auk colony, as adult birds flew in with sand eels, and we caught glimpses of the newly hatched chicks nestled on the ledges, seeking shelter behind their protective parents. Along the cliffs, the majestic female peregrine perched with regal grace, occasionally taking to the skies to survey her domain. And amidst it all, we were treated to the sight of Atlantic Grey Seals, their sleek bodies resting on the shoreline, a true emblem of the marine world. Our wildlife sightings were a testament to the rich biodiversity that thrives in these waters, a symphony of nature's wonders that continues to captivate and inspire.
