AK Wildlife Cruises is dog friendly and we happily welcome small to medium dogs on board. We have a limit of no more than 2 dogs per cruise. All we ask is that your dog is well behaved – absolutely no barking is tolerated. This is because we are WiSe accredited, meaning we go out of our way to avoid disturbing the wildlife we encounter. If you are concerned about barking, we suggest treats to distract your dog. We recommend bringing treats, waste bags and a familiar blanket so your four-legged friend is content and comfortable for the duration of the cruise.

In The Event of Rough Weather
On all our wildlife trips advertised if for any reason the weather becomes too rough to leave the Carrick Roads and head offshore, we will still carry on with the trip but head back up the Carrick Roads and explore our wonderful and wildlife-rich Fal estuary which stretches all the way up to Truro.

These rivers are full of lots of wildlife and on board a boat is a beautiful way to explore the small creeks. A plethora of waders, deer and waterbirds can be seen, as well as visits from our seals, inshore dolphins and porpoises. Classified as a Special Area of Conservation, the Fal Estuary is nationally important for several migratory and waterbirds, such as ospreys, black-necked grebes and red breasted merganser.

The Fal is the third deepest natural harbour in the World and has over sixty miles of coastline and beautifully wooded bank side shore within this vastly diverse and rich in wildlife marine and estuary habitat.

We are WiSe Master accredited
The WiSe Scheme is a training program all about watching Marine wildlife the wildlife-safe way!
The UK is home to a fantastic variety of marine wildlife, whether visible from the shore or from a boat. However, these wild animals are vulnerable to disturbance if not encountered in a manner that respects their wild nature. The aim is to promote responsible wildlife-watching, through training, accreditation, and raising awareness.
We've been on trips with Captain Keith and the crew many times now, often planning trips on our birthdays to come for an adventure at sea, and each time it has been spectacular. It truly is worth the visit no matter the weather or season, we've been when it's been a clear glass ocean and when weve hugged the coastline and each time its been more than worth it. The knowledge, comfort and safety of the team, plus the breathtaking views and spectacular wildlife, make it excellent value aswell as being a must for any trip to Cornwall. Please never stop 💙

Best wildlife cruises I've ever done, expertly led by Captain Keith and his team. Whether you get lucky and see lots of unusual wildlife (eg a super pod of >200 dolphins!) or a quieter day when it's mostly seals and seabirds, it's a fabulous experience. Wonderful mix of seafaring, geography and wildlife expertise, and all delivered with friendly good humour. Not to be missed!
Dan Tunnicliff
An amazing experience. We were all given good advice on what to look out for through our binoculars (take your own or hire a pair) and info about the local waters and animals. We saw gannets and gulls on the way out, then within an hour we were surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, including some very young calves. Captain Keith and Gabby made sure everyone knew where to look and that each person had a chance to stand on the front of the boat to see them right underneath you. They were so close it was unbelievable, we could hear them squeaking to each other.
Spent some decent time with several pods then left them to move on at their own pace so it didn't feel like we were bothering them. On return to shore we saw some porpoises and a seal having a nap.
The Captain really seems to care about the sea life which is lovely. The four of us had a brilliant day, we would definitely recommend!!
